This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Nonfiction has come a long way since the days when I was in elementary school doing research projects! Today, nonfiction texts are so exciting and engaging that students gravitate to them as their first choice for self-selected reading. This project will help bring nonfiction titles from one of the best sources for factual information, National Geographic, to our readers! These titles will fill some gaps within our collection, as well as provide additional selections for topics popular with our students. Keeping our students engaged with high-interest literature will help to fuel their interest in reading and expand their comprehension and vocabulary skills!
