Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I teach in a Chicago Public School, where basic resources are not funded very well. Much of the most basic material is paid for by either the teacher or the students' families. If you teach in a poorer neighborhood, like the one I do where there is a 90% poverty rate, the teacher either has to pay for more materials, or the class goes without. I am struggling to pay for things like Kleenex, hand soap, copy paper, pens and pencils, and notebooks. It would be WONDERFUL if I could get a shipment of the items. Most of my students come from public housing. I am lucky if the students come to class prepared with writing instruments. You would be helping 28 4th and 5th graders VERY MUCH if you funded this. Thank you!
