This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My pre-kindergarten through third-grade scientists attend a high-poverty school in Wisconsin. I am extremely fortunate to be their elementary science teacher, and I am the only science teacher in our district for this age group.
Our school has a science lab, and the students go two times a week to participate in hands-on activities that explore life, earth, and physical sciences.
They are also involved in STEM activities that explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They are excited and eager to learn, and one day they may become scientists themselves.
My Project
These are basic supplies we use every day and unfortunately, the students do not come to school with the supplies they need. Today, second-grade students drew various types of seeds and the way they are dispersed using pencils. Third-grade students used stick glue to sort inherited & acquired traits in their science notebooks. First-grade students used glue in a STEM activity to create a farm animal fence with popsicle sticks that could hold eight farm animals. That was in just one day! Your donation will help our students plan, create, improve, learn and communicate about science topics using materials they need each day.
