My Students
Hi friends. Three months into the school year, and my students are doing great.
As I've mentioned before these scholars are held to high and rigorous standards at our school because we know how important it is to set them up for real-world success and to help them realize their full potential, but they don’t often have breakfast, they may not have dinner when they get home, and in most cases, they really do not have money for school supplies.
We've spent the first few months of school learning what Spanish is, where it's spoken, and why it matters in our world today. We've learned how to talk about our family and friends, and how to greet people throughout our days. Things are moving right along, but my kiddos are still coming to school hungry.
So I am making this project simply to apply left-over funds from my first project towards getting more healthy food in my classroom.
My Project
My students often times lack the family support, financial and otherwise, in order to come to school as prepared, engaged scholars. This is simply the reality of the neighborhood in which I teach.
In order to try to bridge this support gap for them, I've got to supply my classroom with basics like pencils, notebooks, and snacks so that they are ready to be the best students they can be.
I greatly appreciate any and all assistance in helping me accomplish this for my students. My school does provide me with some supplies, but I have 180 students who all need this extra level of support. Thank you, always.
