Our school is an intervention school which serves the neediest families in our community. We have students from a wide variety of backgrounds including those who are learning English as a second language, non-verbal students, students who receive special education services as well as those who are part of our general education population.
Our school operates with an "all for one, one for all" philosophy and we serve students and their families.
Everyone pitches in where necessary. We view all students as "ours", not just those in our individual classrooms.
My Project
This project impacts 3 classrooms of 3-5 year old children. Today's technology provides endless opportunities for learning, but sometimes there is no replacement for the "old standbys" like crayons, markers, ink, and glue in early childhood education. We use a lot of these materials, enhancing the children's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination as well as writing and literacy skills. Teachers often spend their own money on these items and funding for this project will help alleviate that burden, as well as provide our students with the tools they need to learn and succeed. We appreciate your help and our students do as well!
