My students come from very diverse households and economic backgrounds, but they have many common traits--they are inquisitive, imaginative, eager to learn, funny, caring, and kind. Once they are in the classroom it’s time to get to work. There are times when they are working at something that seemed so difficult to them at first and then it happens . . . they get it! There is nothing more rewarding than the look of accomplishment on a first grade child's face. It’s my goal to provide each and every one of them with the very best first grade experience possible.
My Project
My students love learning and will use these Dixon Ticonderoga Tri-Write Pencils, Crayola Regular and Construction Paper Crayons, Boao Dry Erase Markers, Elmer's Glue Sticks and the Take Home and Classwork folders on a daily basis. These supplies are the basics for learning and sometimes their importance is overlooked.
My first graders love to write and illustrate their stories with Crayola Regular and Construction Paper Crayons - the vibrant colors bring their stories to life!
They are so proud to display their work for all to see.
We use the Dixon Ticonderoga Tri-Write Pencils without erasers. This teaches my first graders to slow down and think about what they want to write and leads to much fewer mistakes. Writing time is a favorite time of our day.
We have a flexible seating classroom and don't use desks so we organize our work in folders. The Fun Express Classwork Pocket Folders will be a great help with this. We will use the Laminated Take Home Pocket Folders for taking home notices, classwork, and homework.
We also use mini dry erase boards on a regular basis. Having Dry Erase Markers with Erasers on the caps will be so helpful. My first graders will easily write and erase...no more putting down the pen, picking up the eraser, picking the pen back up.
All of these supplies are basic, but so necessary.
