Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 23 amazing students! I work at a Title I school. These energetic children are enthusiastic and motivated learners! My pupils have a unique variety of abilities, interests, and learning styles. In kindergarten, it is developmentally appropriate to have lessons where the kids have opportunities to interact hands-on and creatively. In kindergarten, we must focus on rigorous academics, free play, creativity, and developing fine and gross motor skills. I use DonorsChoose.org to supplement the district's curriculum to enhance my students’ learning.
My Project
Paper! Paper! Paper, the foundation of many activities in kindergarten. This simple object is a huge asset to our classroom.
I am requesting a case of white construction paper and some extra bright colorful paper.
My school departmentalizes 3 times a week for one subject. I teach art to all 3 kindergarten classrooms. White construction paper is the foundation of many of our art projects. I go through 1-2 packages per project. Construction paper is thick. It is better for painting and drawing. The sturdiness helps their work last longer. The extra bright sulfite paper will add beauty and color their creative masterpieces.
I also use construction paper in my everyday lessons. The children use it to make covers for their books. They also help a cut and paste phonics or math lesson.
Lastly, I am requesting a couple packages of sharpies. We use these to label work, folders, and other important things in the classroom.
