This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am lucky to teach an amazing group of eighth graders who have successfully come out of the pandemic with an eagerness to learn! But unfortunately not all the students have access to the basic supplies they need to start the school year. I want to make sure each student has a notebook with paper and pencils that they can carry through the year to capture all their assignments in my language arts classes. If I can supply them with the basics, they’ll start eighth grade on a level playing field and I can’t wait to see how high they can soar!
