Help me give my students classroom supplies! My students have been complaining for days that my markers are dying, I need a new pencil sharpener, and our index card dividers aren't working. Help me fix this!
My students are unique. They are determined. They are motivated. They are hard workers. They are underserved.
93.7% of my students are black and hispanic, 72.8% of my students receive free and reduced price lunch, although this number is almost certainly too low.
Some students do not have a home to return to. Some students return to a typical nuclear family. Some students return to subsidized housing. Some students do not have parents to return to. I see students from many different backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: they want to learn and they want a better life for themselves.
My Project
This project will help to fill a couple of different needs in my classroom. My students have been complaining of markers drying out, my pencil sharpener not working, and our makeshift dividers falling apart. Help me to give my students the supplies they deserve!
Additionally, I have a large number of Spanish speakers in my classes.
I want to get English to Spanish dictionaries to help these students succeed in my class. These dictionaries will help them to bridge the language barrier and be more successful.
