This is my sixth year teaching in a New York City school. I am a Special Education teacher in a 3rd grade classroom.
I made it a priority as I started my career as a teacher that even though I may not be able to control their home lives, I know I can certainly control their positive experiences during the school day in a creative and positive way.
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous. As a teacher in a Title I school, my students are faced with various situations both in and out of the classroom.
My Project
Students learn in lots of different ways, some are visual learners while others are kinesthetic and tactile learners. The reason behind my project is to motivate students to learn their multiplication facts through games. Learning through the use of math games is essential to the success of each student especially to their confidence and self-esteem levels.
These multiplication and division calculation games will help to gain the attention and desire to learn new mathematical concepts.
Math games provide differentiated instruction so every learner has the ability to succeed. Providing differentiated instruction and alternatives to normal paper and pencil math problems is important.
