Help me give my students sanitizing wipes, sanitizer, kleenex, and soap to help keep all of us safe during in-person learning in the midst of the continuing COVID-19 pandemc
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Motivated, hard-working, curious, and busy! These are the words that describe my second graders. They work hard on most tasks and are easily motivated by hands-on activities and lessons. For many of them, there isn't a lot of motivation in the home to work hard or to be successful. School is their happy place and where their biggest supporters are. Most of them love to come to school, and several never want to leave in the afternoons.
We are a multicultural class of diverse learners in a Title I school.
All of the students are eligible for our free lunch program and receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Several receive bags of food for their families for the weekend, or when we have breaks from school.
Our neighborhood surrounding the school is very supportive. Many of the business owners volunteer to read with the students, mentor them, or serve as a coach for them. Business owners partner with the staff to ensure the students know they have another person on their side.
My students are special and they know they are loved and cared for!
My Project
The COVID-19 pandemic seems to be nerver-ending, unfortunately our supplies are not! We have gone through many of our items that were previously donated by parents, or provided by our district. With the continuing pandemic and also flu season, we find ourselves again in need of neccessary hygiene and cleaning items to get through the 2nd semester.
Our classroom is in need of sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, kleenex, and soap.
The students and I are constantly using these supplies to keep our hands and the areas around us nice and clean. So far, our classroom has been one of the healthiest in the school! We believe a lot of that is because we say "no to germs!"
