Our Title I school is full of book loving, problem solving and eager-to-learn kids. The kindergartners love learning about letters, number problems, and even how to write fancy stories! Every day we are working hard to learn for a better future. What I love most about these kindergartners, is that they are so good at recycling, reusing, and reducing in all opportunities to make our earth better!
This year, our students have a learning garden and are taking on a huge project this year with composting; a true green school mission!
In our classroom, we are trying to rid of harsh chemicals for safer alternatives and minimal excess. We also make it an important job to wash our hands at every opportunity possible to combat illnesses.
The students eat snack and lunch in the classroom, so, it's crucial we all keep it as clean as possible. The desks can get messy. Real fast. Luckily, the students are fabulous cleaners and we have supplies to do the best we can.
Our kids are our future. Leaving small foot prints in our personal life, will help the world keep turning beautifully.
My Project
After many years of having cleaning wipes on our supply list, it is time to get smart and create an economical, safe haven for the students. Having towels readily available to the students, they can easily wipe their hands on the microfiber that will catch bacteria, dirt, and other proteins. These towels are entwined with pure silver. Silver suffocates bacteria making these towels self cleaning and low maintenance!
Not only does this project help the classroom be freshly clean, these materials drastically reduce our amount of waste, each day, by 30%!
The students would usually use about 22 baby wipes and a few clorox wipes a day to clean the tables and chairs. With Norwex cleaning technology, the microfiber picks up all the bad stuff with just WATER and zero waste! Even students drying their hands on the microfiber "kitties" will love saving all the trees for paper towel production!
