Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are some of the most hard working, determined students I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They work their hardest each and every day to become better readers.
Every day my students enter the classroom ready to learn and become better readers. In order to grow as readers, students must have access to 'just right' books. I currently have students reading any where from a Kindergarten reading level all the way up to a 4th Grade reading level. Your generous donation will ensure each student has books that allow them to be successful readers.
In order for my students to grow and become better readers they need these 'just right' books. Our school is dedicated to reaching each student on his or her level. Our mission is simple...Grow Kids!
My Project
Each individual student, from struggling readers to the fluent readers, will benefit from these leveled books because they will be 'just right' books on their individual reading level. Their confidence will grow as well because they are reading independently and they are being successful with their reading.
Students will be excited because they can do it! They will enjoy selecting books because they will be 'just right' books and they will be able to read them independently! Often times, students will select books that are too hard and become frustrated. Or, students will select books that are too easy and become bored with reading. With these leveled books they will start to see that they can read and they will be proud of their reading!
