My students need a nonfiction leveled library which includes high interest topics and full color photos. The leveled library supports Levels A through P (grades K-3).
This project expired on December 22, 2015.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
One of the main focuses in my classroom this year is guided reading. My students' reading levels range from an early kindergarten to a third grade reading level. My goal is to find just right books to allow each child to reach their maximum reading potential and love reading.
Nearly half the students in my school receive free or reduced meals.
We are close to becoming a Title 1 school, which would give us extra funds. However, we are not close enough. Our school is outdated and it seems as if we are struggling to keep up with the rest of the schools. Therefore, we are at a slight disadvantage, but my students deserve the best!
I have 25 first grade students in my class this year and many struggle with their reading skills. My hope is to create a classroom library that will meet everyone's needs and interests. My students are going to spend a great deal of time reading. These resources will make reading seem more appealing.
With your help, we are trying to create a leveled nonfiction library. The library will range from early kindergarten reading levels through third grade reading levels, which are levels A through P.
Students tend to enjoy reading more if they are reading a just right book.
Just right books are books that interest an individual and books that are on their reading level, as well. The book is neither too easy nor too hard. It's JUST RIGHT! Just right books will allow my readers to flourish. They will encourage them to love reading. By the end of the year, I want all of my students to reach their maximum reading potential. With your help...they will!
