I'm a proud South Carolina teacher of 24 curious first grade students. Regardless of our circumstances, my students are excited and ready to learn, but we need engaging materials. My students need books for our classroom library that are high interest/low level reading. These nonfiction books will be perfect to engage reluctant readers. I want to provide my students with appropriate and a variety of materials. This project includes over 100 leveled books that will be added to our classroom library. These leveled books will be so easy for each student to find the BEST "Good Fit" book on their individual reading level. So much time in first grade is spent on reading so we are are in desperate need of many, many books!

By funding this project, these leveled books will be used daily in my classroom this year and also in classrooms for many years to come.As a first grade teacher my goal is to have all of my students reading on grade level by the end of the year.
The greatest challenge I have is providing my students with quality books that are at an appropriate reading level.
