My students need 3 sets of books at guided reading levels C, H, and I, and 14 copies of books from the Magic Treehouse, Junie B, Captain Underpants, and Fairy Magic series.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach first grade at a charter school at a very low income district in New York. My students work very hard and deserve every advantage we can give them!
We don't have a school library. We do have some great books in our classroom library now, but there are some huge holes in our leveled section. We are in great need of book sets at a few guided reading levels. We also need many more chapter books in the popular series that the more advanced students love to read.
We need sets of books at guided reading levels C, H, and I. We also need some chapter books from some of the students' favorite series: Junie B, Captain Underpants, Magic Treehouse, and Fairy Magic. These books will help continue the development of reading skills and enjoyment.
With your help, students will be able to borrow books from our classroom library that match their own just-right reading levels. This will enable students to develop reading skills at a developmentally appropriate pace. Books from popular series will keep more advanced students excited and enthusiastic about reading.
