My 7th and 8th grade students are hard-working, creative learners that strive to do their best. They like to explore and create through reading and writing. As with all classrooms, not everyone learns at the same pace or in the same way.
My students need a teacher who can develop creative ways to help reach all learners and make learning engaging!
As with all classrooms, not everyone learns at the same pace or in the same way. My students thrive on real-life experiences that show how learning is relevant to their future career path, whether they choose to work in agriculture, retail, education, or engineering!
My Project
My students love to show what they know and I am always looking for better ways to help them do that. I am working on building my knowledge of personalized learning to help me reach more of my students on their level and by using their interests and skills. I need professional development books to help me continue to create engaging lessons and real-life experiences for my students!
I love to read, I love to learn, and I love to share my passion with my kids by engaging them in fun, creative lessons!
These books will put me on the path to becoming a better teacher by expanding my knowledge of school culture and how to create a positive culture in my classroom. They will help me find new and creative ways to keep my students engaged and motivated to learn. I have also included some books that will help with literacy in the classroom.
Draw Your Big Idea and The Sketchnote Handbook will help me better understand and engage students who learn visually. Dive Into Inquiry, Teaching Literacy in the Visible Learning Classroom, and A Novel Approach will help me create lessons that engage readers and non-readers and still allow them to learn the same material. Kids Deserve It, Be the One for Kids, Let Them Speak, and Classroom Management in the Digital Age will help me learn more about putting kids first and giving them choice and voice in the classroom as well as improving school and classroom culture. 50 Things to Go Further with Google Classroom, The Hyperdoc Handbook, Ditch That Homework, Making Your Teaching Something Special, and Hacking Assessment will develop my skills as a teacher and help me use technology effectively in my classroom.
