My Students

Our school is located on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. We are a Title I school with a high percentage (approximately 70%) of students living at or below the poverty level. Our school is a small, rural community school with fewer than 400 students in grades 4-8.

Despite the many challenges my students face, they are eager to learn.

My students are always super excited to come to my class, and I am eager to present them with thoughtful, engaging science content. Science is best learned in context, by doing and experiencing things. DonorsChoose helps make this happen.

We are small but mighty. We have a lot of school spirit, and it really is a great place to spend my time. We are very active in the community and focus on building positive relationships both inside and outside of the school setting.

My Project

The second half of the year can be a bit dreary. The days are cloudy and cold, and we are all looking forward to sunny, warm days ahead.

This project will help supply my students with items they need both in and out of the classroom.

The book storage unit, lamp, chair bands, and pencils will make the second half of the year a little easier for us. The monocular and muslin bags will be used during a trip to Calvert Cliffs in April to collect fossils and observe local flora and fauna.

Please help me give all of my students memorable middle school science experiences. They are going to save the world, you know?
