Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This year I have a great class. My classroom has a diverse group of students that comes from different races and socioeconomic groups. They are a very loving and a special group of kids that match my level of enthusiasm and excitement for learning every day.

My class is the best class that any teacher could ask for.

They are eager learners and love having the opportunity to peer teach or to show what they have learned. Even though we have our ups and downs, we always work it out. This has been my best class ever.

My Project

There are many days where we have to have indoor recess due to weather. (Too hot in July, snowing during the winter or raining for days on end). During indoor recess, my kids have an opportunity to reconnect with old fashioned board games. It is amazing to watch them play board games, put puzzles together, build using wooden blocks, draw on recycled paper or play school.

During indoor recess, Legos would allow my students to be creative, use their imagination, and help with problem solving.

Too often students want to play digitally, but I want my students to learn that they can have just as much fun using their brains to create something amazing with their hands.
