Help me give my students hands-on learning supplies like levels and trowels which will enable them to practice, then master "laying to the line," an essential masonry career skill.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 9-12th students that are interested in the masonry field. My students love to learn and the more hands-on I can make the material the better. I want them to be able to have the educational experiences to land a career in their chosen field.
Many of my students struggle to find employment and opportunity.
Even so, they come to class eager to learn. They are inspiring examples of determination.
My Project
Not every student will or must go to college. A college education has to be at the right time and in the right circumstance. However, every student deserves to have a satisfying career and a financially secure future.
Becoming proficient with the tools of the trade means they can develop the speed necessary to secure an apprenticeship, to make a living for themselves and to make a meaningful contribution to the economy.
The requested tools will be used to enhance the student's learning and give them a chance to practice what they have learned in the lessons.
