Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the library media specialist at a Pre K-5th grade high needs elementary school. Our school is over 45 years old, and with budget cuts, we can barely afford to buy pencils and paper let alone invest in the technology that our students will need in order to prosper in the 21st century.
Currently we have to project our information from the computer or overhead onto a white board most of the time because we do not have the appropriate projection screen. The library is the heart of the school. We hold many student clubs, student council, teacher and parent meetings and regular library classes in the library and it can become very inconvenient. We are not able to use the white board and the projector or overhead at the same time. We have used a white sheet in the past to project onto but that does not work very well either.
We just need a screen that we can hang from the ceiling to pull up and down when we need it for use with the overhead or the projector. This will allow us to make use of the white board at the same time without needing to erase valuable information from the board so we can project information.
Your help will ensure that my students receive a high quality education with the best technology available without making sacrifices like erasing a board to use it as a projection area. We will be able to use an assortment of technologies, which will ensure we reach various learning modalities in the classroom and enrich every child's educational experience!
