Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school, with a 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Most of my students come from low-income families and although they face many challenges they still bring to class an eagerness to learn.
Many of my students are below grade level in both math and reading but they work hard to reach the goals they set for themselves.
The least I can do for them is provide the best possible tools the help them reach their educational goals.
My Project
My fifth-grade teacher created in me a love for reading. Books became more than just a cover and pages bound up tight. They became friends. They encouraged my creativity and imagination. They became knowledge.
I would like to pass on my love for books by putting together a little nook where I can create the same magical moments for my students.
Our classroom library is in need of some comfy furniture which is why I would like to add some floor seats, comfy pillows and bean bags. With help, I would like to create an inviting spot where knowledge can freely flow.
