I need help paying for my hotel for the 10th Annual Jump$tart National Education Conference in Cleveland, Ohio.

My Students

I teach an extremely talented and unique group of fifth graders in Kentucky. They are both advance program students and regular program students. Several of my students are from different countries.

We are considered a school with moderate poverty, but we do not qualify for additional state and government funds.

Each of our at-risk students needs the opportunity to have the same resources as students at other schools. My students are eager and excited. They are creative and want to learn more. They are eager and seek knowledge on a daily basis.

My Project

I have been selected as the first runner-up for the Kentucky Jump$tart Coalition's 2018 Financial Literacy Teacher of the Year. I am excited and honored to receive this award. I want to travel to the 10th Annual Jump$tart National Education Conference in November in Cleveland, Ohio, where I will be presented with the award.

The Jump$tart National Educator Conference is the nation’s premier event for Pre-K through 12th-grade teachers dedicated to personal finance education in the classroom.

As a coalition of more than 100 diverse national partner organizations, Jump$tart brings together the resources, support, and expertise needed to engage, inspire, and appreciate classroom educators from across the country, who attend the conference.

I am excited about the opportunity to attend workshops and meet with other teachers to learn more best practices for teaching financial literacy to my students. I plan to bring the resources and new knowledge back to school to share with my colleagues as well.
