Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are caring, kind, and amazing. They are middle school students who I have had the privilege of teaching before as their sixth-grade content teacher.

My students are primarily second language learners and at a Title I school.

They understand hard work as I have heard stories of how some are already working. They come to school ready to learn and are excited about the new possibilities every day.

Our school values rigor and compassion and my students should have gym materials that reflect that, no matter what city they live in.

My Project

Physical Education and Health are probably not on the top of everyone's academic needs list right now with all that is going on in the world. However, research shows that if students are engaged in physical education before they begin lessons of rigor, specifically lessons that are academically already challenging for them, their cognitive outcomes will be better.

I hope to create little take-home bags for my PE and Health students to keep them motivated on their own physical education goals.

Through the use of jump ropes and the bags that are listed, students will be able to engage in at-home learning that encourages cardiovascular activity mask free.
