My students need microscopes,electronic kits, books, and a variety of building materials to think critically, problem solve, and work with others. I will use these engineering materials as a weekly STEM challenge.
My students attend a Title 1 school where 72% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. They often come from single parent homes, or are part of a military family, and they live in a very transitory area.
I have a Co-Lab classroom and many of my students are receiving additional educational support throughout their school day.
We are also incorporating STEM into our daily lessons.
My students are very energetic and are always excited and eager to take on new skills and master new concepts! They love moving around the room and love anything hands on! Their potential is limitless, but our supplies are not. We depend upon generous donors in assisting us to meet the needs of our classroom.
My Project
I teach Kindergarten and their minds and hands are constantly active. They love experimenting and exploring, and they are very creative! These building activities will encourage my students to do what they do best, explore and experiment!
STEM activities provide a way for students to problem solve, think critically, and work with others.
They will help teach the engineering design process. These materials will be used as a weekly STEM challenge. I will use the other materials in other curriculum areas.
