Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students attend a homeschool, hybrid charter school. They meet with me twice a week and then take what they have learned in the classroom and expand on it at home with their family. My students are passionate about science, history, art, math, reading, and writing. They love expressing themselves in many different ways. My students are very active, creative, and resourceful second and third graders.
They love to share with me their ideas for how to make our classroom better and inspire our always-changing, positive learning environment.
My students love to learn about the world around them and how to apply what they have learned in the classroom. Our classroom is made up of a community of learners who love to explore new ideas. My students foster my own love of learning and always bring new ideas and projects into the classroom for us to study with each other.
My Project
My students are always curious about how to keep their bodies healthy. They love playing outside during recess and organized PE activities.
We share our campus with two other hybrid programs and our PE materials are used extensively.
We also have a campus with a blacktop play area which increases the need for easily transportable PE and recess equipment.
I love seeing my students and their peers getting healthy exercise and learning to play organized sports like kickball, soccer and jumping rope with others while outside on the playground. We have an awesome Peaceful Playground setup at our school, l but now we just need some additional materials to take full advantage of the games, sports and activities available to our students.
