This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am an elementary school librarian in a hidden gem of a school in inner-city Baltimore, MD! My students are enthusiastic learners with a passion and love for reading, storytelling, building, and creating!

I am looking to build a STEAM-based, literature-rich, project-based learning environment that fosters that love of literature and learning!

My Project

As an inner-city school librarian, I served various students in grades pre-k-5 with very little district funding!

My biggest goal this year is to fill our shelves in our brand new 21st-century building with favorites for all ages with enough copies to allow more than one student to enjoy each title at a time!

My youngest, most emerging readers literally jump for joy when they see Junie B. Jones on the shelves! She is relatable and funny and entices even my most reluctant of readers to truly WANT to read!
