This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from mostly at risk or underserved populations. Many students at our school qualify for free lunch and gladly accept any support they can get during school and after school. Many of their parents have to work 1-2 jobs in order to survive financially in this area.

Our school has a long history of athletic prowess, however we have not been the competitive force we used to be in athletics for some time.

Any athletic supplies given to our students and student athletes will be used during PE and by all of our sports programs.

My Project

The (24) jump ropes will allow students to improve their hand eye coordination which is essential these days as more and more students spend gross amounts of time on their phones. This equipment is also in high demand from my female students that do not feel as though our weight room meets their immediate needs.

The equipment will be used by multiple sports teams, by elective class with mostly student-athletes, and teachers that work out after school.

We just lost a $500,000 5 year grant from Goodwill for our after school weight lifting program and are in need of funding to support our students after school.
