This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our Foxes are strong and resilient. We have a very high PTSD population as we are in the crosshairs of Baltimore City's violence. I have been teaching at my school for 10 years and find my students to be profoundly inspirational. Most of them have had to face significant trauma so early in life yet they still manage to have that sparkle in their eyes when a teacher believes in them.

Right now, with the shutdown, our students are without all of the resources their school offers them compounded by the fact that many are in small apartments with multiple family members..

I teach Physical Education so it is more difficult reaching my students via technology. Over 80% of our students do not have computers. I need these amazing students to still be able to get their heart rates up during intense exercise. JUMP ROPES can make this a reality for our students who cannot afford PE equipment. Please help me reach my AMAZING students and give them something they can do at home to stay both physically and emotionally healthy

My Project

My students love to be taught. I want each of my students to have a jump rope so I can teach them hundreds of different jump rope activities and challenges while they are restricted to their homes. Most of my students have small apartments and can't go outside right now. They need an outlet and this will provide emotional, physical and mental stimulation. I have countless lessons to provide and they will love it.

I will teach students how to jump backwards, sideways, crossing, stepping, etc.

There are endless opportunities to learn with a jump rope.
