My Students

My students active and eager to learn. They are diverse culturally and socioeconomically. Approximately 35% Caucasian, 31% African American and 30% Hispanic. Approximately 42% of the student population is economically disadvantaged.

The first question they asked was if we would dissect frogs.

They work hard and are inquisitive. They crave hands-on inquiry and new experiences and thrive with real-world learning experiences. Our school has maintained an 'A' rating since opening its doors due to the dedication of our families, students, and staff.

My Project

This frog dissection experience will bring science to life in our classroom and give students the hands-on learning they need to understand the interaction of body systems. They will excel in real world inquiry that connects the text to the world around them through an active and engaging learning environment.

This will enable a more in-depth understanding of content and higher student achievement and instill a desire to learn more regardless of culture or gender.

STEM experiences in the classroom are priceless and science investigations and labs are an important part of the curriculum.

Students will remember this experience for years to come.
