I teach preschoolers with severe disabilities in a low income school.
My preschoolers have a variety of challenges--physical and cognitive.
Most have low muscle tone and poor coordination. Many have sensory issues. A trampoline would be a wonderful way for my children to improve muscle tone, balance, coordination, and to regulate their nervous systems.
My Project
The trampoline I am requesting for my class is designed for indoor use with young children. It doesn't have any bungee cords that will break, and it folds when we need to move it out of the way. My children would have the opportunity to work on improving motor skills such as balance and coordination, and ways to regulate their nervous systems.
Jump--1,2,3,4,5!
After a jumping session, children are more likely to attend to a story and to focus on preacademic skills such as counting, sorting, drawing. Jumping is fun, joyful, AND helps children learn!!
