My Students

My forty Pre-K students love to learn and move. Coming mostly from backgrounds of poverty, they need lots of activities to get to where they need to be for kindergarten. Our classroom needs lots of different activities to keep their interest going.

Our school has over 90% receiving free or reduced-rate lunches.

Most of our parents don't have the extra income to purchase materials that help them get ready for kindergarten. By the time they get to preschool, they have some lost ground to make up for.

My Project

Many of my 4- and 5-year-olds live in areas that aren't safe for outdoor play. They spend the majority of their time sitting in front of some sort of screen. They lack practice in making up their own games in order to have fun while running and playing.

These items will encourage my children to become more active while interacting with their classmates.

They will find ways to create their own balance beams with the stepping stones, run and chase after each other with the tag football set--without getting in trouble for grabbing each other, jump and build healthier bodies with the trampoline, play tags with the balls and vests, and just have fun!
