My Project

My fourth graders are an amazing group of diverse, enthusiastic children. What's more, they are voracious readers! Unfortunately, our classroom library is fairly outdated with old books discarded from the public library and it lacks organization due to not having proper book bins. These older books, many of which or falling apart, are of little interest to my students.

The books purchased in this project will add diversity to our classroom library, giving students an opportunity to read about people and characters who look like them.

Seeing yourself reflected in the world, especially in books, is important to open your mind to the possibilities and paths your life can take. What's more, the book bins purchased will help provide some much-needed organization to our library creating ease in finding a high-interest book. My students will have so much joy from receiving these books. Thank you for your time and consideration.
