This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are smart, energetic, and loving. They love learning and being taught. About 98% of my students come from neighborhoods that do not foster a positive self-image. They love being in a classroom that promotes kindness and positivity. They are the most creative students that any teacher could ask for. I love coming to work and seeing those beaming faces.
My students love to laugh and joke.
The pure joy that they get from learning is simply amazing. Providing them with educational experiences that they have not experienced yet makes me so glad to be their teacher.
My Project
These items will make a huge difference for many of my students. Some of these items can be used to learn at home, but honestly I just want to give my students something to smile about. I want to gift each of my students a family game to play with their families this holiday season. Many families are still feeling the impact of COVID and the joy has left some of their homes completely.
I want my students to be able to laugh and have fun with their families.
Some of the students that I serve are getting anxious about the upcoming holiday, knowing that this year may not be the same as a few years ago. The uncertainty of what to expect weight heavily on many of their shoulders. Help me to give them something to look forward to, even if it is just a game that they can share with the family.
