Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a diverse group of students in a public high school. My students come from a variety of countries and different socioeconomic backgrounds. My students range from 9th to 12th grade and are eager to learn a new language.
Some students may be learning a language for the first time, some speak Creole because of their Haitian roots, and some speak English and Spanish and are learning French as their third language.
My students need appropriate and up-to-date resources to help them learn French and be successful in this endeavor.
My Project
With these various games, students will be able to choose a game of interest to them all while practicing French with their classmates. With block schedules, students often need a brain break and these games will be the perfect activities to get my students refocused on French! The games will also be available as a reward to students who finish their assignments before the rest of the class.
My high school students will be so excited to play these board games, word games, and card games in class that they will forget that they are learning!
Students are going to want to play these games every class and not just on Journee Jeux (Game Day)!
