Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school where ninety-five percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Eighty percent of our students go home to non-English speaking families. Some of our students are the only English speaking people in their family.

I make it my goal every year to supply my students with the supplies they need and hands-on experiences that they wouldn't get elsewhere.

I love it when my students finish an activity and say what a great time they had and how much they learned! Our students are very bright and deserve every opportunity they get!

My Project

My students need journals they can write a story in and draw a picture to go along with their journal. These special journals really help our second graders with their writing. They are able to practice forming their letters correctly with the penmanship lines, spelling words correctly and writing stories with complete sentences. Once the students write their story they can draw a picture at the top that goes with their story.

The other composition notebooks also help our students form their letters, words, and sentences correctly.

Writing is an important part of our school day and with these journals our students will definitely go to third grade ready to write more!
