My Students
My students are so special. Their beautiful classroom was flooded in Hurricane Harvey along with some of their homes. We started school a month later than planned at a church in town. We actually began the year sharing a classroom with another teacher and her class at the church. The students never complained.
They are strong, flexible, caring, smart, and talented just to name a few of their attributes.
They have rolled with every punch thrown their way this year!
My Project
I am writing this project for my whole grade level. There are 7 teachers in Kindergarten at the moment. Our students need these journals to push our writing skills along.
Daily journaling very important in Kindergarten.
The journals come complete with a sight word bank, designated picture spot, and colored writing lines on each page. The children in Kindergarten are learning as we go to sound out words. The bank of sight words in the back of this journal will lower frustrastions and expose the children to more print. The writing lines will help the students with their handwriting skills they have learned this year. Great writers turn into great readers! I want to help the entire grade level become both!
