This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing! They are eager to learn, ready to dive into new topics, and strong enough to keep going when things get tough.
My students and I are a team, working and learning together all the time.
We do as much as we can despite issues outside of the classroom. We work hard daily to learn how to read and complete basic math. My students are a family. We work together, struggle together, cry together, and, most importantly, learn together.
My Project
In one of my past projects, I asked for sets of the first 8 Junie B. Jones books. I am asking for the next 8 books in sets for students to use during guided reading groups and to take home.
I want students to LOVE reading, in and out of the classroom.
These books will provide students with engaging and exciting texts. Junie B. is a very relatable and silly character.
I want to challenge my higher learners and gifted students. I struggle finding books for these students to read and Junie B. are perfect. Since my past project was funded, I want to provide the whole serious for my students to read and work on collaboratively.
