My students need class sets of high interest books, like "Horrible Harry and the Green Slime" and "Helen Keller - Courage in the Dark," to be used for book clubs and literature circles.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
With Literature Circles in the classroom, students learn to take responsibility for their own learning. From choosing the book, to taking charge of their own discussions, students learn independence, study skills, as well as a new appreciation of literature.
I teach a wonderful class of 25 third-graders.
They are excited, energetic and enthusiastic. My students love to read! And they love to share their insights and opinions about what they read. Literature Circles in the classroom will be an exciting, collaborative way for them to enjoy literature and share their ideas and feelings about what they are reading.
My Project
With this excellent set of class books, literature circles can become a part of my classroom. I have chosen a wide range of genres, including fiction, biography, history, and fantasy. This will be an excellent addition to our current reading program, and will certainly enhance my students' love of reading.
These books will make Literature Circles happen in our classroom!
Literature circles will help improve the reading skills and enjoyment of all students, including at-risk students and reluctant learners. Thank you for helping us achieve our goals.
