Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a vision of a classroom with sufficient supplies, materials, and technology that will provide my deserving students with the same resources as students in privileged suburban communities. I work in an inner city school with a diverse population. All of the students live in the neighborhood, some are middle class and others are homeless. Regardless of their home lives, they all come to school every day, eager to learn. All of my students come to school every day with bright smiles ready to learn, but we are so underfunded that our children do not receive what suburban school districts receive.
I teach in an amazing school with passionate teachers who only have one goal in mind; to educate our amazing students.
Not only do we put out thousands of our personal dollars each year we do what it takes with limited resources to make sure that our students are educated.
My Project
My first graders have become more flexible learners, rather than just sitting in a chair or on their carpet spot, they need more to help keep them focused and engaged for longer periods of time. They will learn to control their bodies when they have a choice of where to sit.
