My students need several chances to explore their creative sides, using STEAM. This Cricut Explore Air 2 will give them a chance to show off their creativity.
This project expired on December 22, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are like all teacher's students... Amazing. Our school is located in a small town in south-central Oregon just outside of Klamath Falls. We have a large population of Native American children. We are a 100% free or reduced-price lunch school, that also serves many military families. This is a point of pride for me as I am a former Marine. We are a PBIS school and have an amazing, caring staff that all take pride in being Panthers.
I would love to let my students explore the digital world as well as get in touch with their inner artist. Some people have a creative flair that is quickly extinguished because of the inability to draw a straight line. I want my students to have computer-aided artwork. While a handmade card or gift is not supposed to be perfect, it does have to be something a child is proud to give. Several times a season, I have seen students throw in the towel when they were unable to get their Christmas, or Mother's day gifts just right.
The ability to show off creativity is a gift my students deserve.
Making their creations come to life and design their own intricate ideas can both inspire creativity, and build self-esteem. We will be showcasing our work for parents, working together to make our classroom an artistic expression. Another opportunity this Cricut will provide to my students is the ability to create cards that we will be sending to soldiers across seas during Christmas. Fun bulletin boards, science projects will add to the character of our class and color our world... without having to wish upon a star!
