My Students

My students need quality shoes, clothing basics and personal care items in order to be academically and socially successful in school.

How can students learn at school when their minds are focused on survival?

Many of us take for granted the warm shower we took this morning, the supplies stocked on our shelves and the washer that works.

Many students come to school with basic needs not being met at home. These students struggle to focus and learn. Financial assistance does not always cover personal hygiene products or the household supplies a family needs. Water and electricity is often shut-off when a family cannot afford to pay. High-priced home appliances such as washers and dryers can be expensive to repair.

My school serves a high percentage of low-income students and families. We have many students who qualify as homeless. Access to agencies that provide basic personal care supplies do not exist in our rural area. Many of my students students utilize the school's facilities and resources to bathe and find clean clothing.

My Project

Imagine how you would feel, if you had to go to school with holes in your shoes or clothes; or if you didn't have the school supplies you needed for your classes or if you didn't have basic personal hygiene supplies at home. Would you even want to come to school?

Help us help Jr High students to feel confident and prepared for school!

We want the closet to be a place they can go to meet their basic needs and give them the confidence to succeed in school. The picture above is our High School / Elementary closet that we got funded last year! Help us give our Jr High students the same opportunity!
