My Students

Do you remember being curious about what French meant when you were in a Level 1 class? My students are excited to learn to read in a second language; however, we do not currently have the funding to provide readers for them.

My 9th through 12th grade students are creative, bright, and interested in learning more about the world around them.

They love the French language and are very excited about reading in a second language. This is my 2nd year as the French teacher at this school and we are building the program to allow students to take AP French Language and Culture next year. However, we need books to help them prepare for this difficult exam.

My Project

These beginning readers will allow my students the opportunity to build their literacy skills in a second language and help them build the skills necessary to tackle the reading component of the AP French Language and Culture exam. The two novels are over 400 words a piece which is a good starting point for them.

Donations to this project will help us build a strong program for AP French Language and Culture that we do not currently have.

It is another opportunity for students to take more challenging courses and to push themselves to higher levels of achievement in French.
