My JROTC students are creative and thoughtful! We strive to make them better citizens within their communities, by helping them to recognize the leader within themselves. They really love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They are often challenged each day to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration. We use a variety of learning strategies, group work and individual options to help motivate, inspire, and encourage each student to become a better citizen.
They're an incredible group of students, and I am grateful to be their JROTC Instructor.
The school is located in a low-income community with minimal resources, but they are a tightly knitted group, who always seem to make the best of what they have. Amongst the many things we do as a group, they always look forward to Friday's Physical Training days, drill practice, riflery practice, and Color Guard practice.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The large Mats will help protect our rifle range floor and at the same time provide comfort for the cadets while conducting physical training exercises, indoors. They will also be used to help build a workout station, in order help those desiring a little extra push, to meet they goals, they can get a quick out in during their brake from day to day.
The rifles for both riflery sports and Army Drill Competitions are very costly.
Theses mats will help observe the shocks from them falling during practice and also keep them from damaging the floors. This will allow the Cadets to feel comfortable and build their confidence when handling the rifles and training equipment.
