Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a fifth grade teacher that has spent the last four years trying to build a nice library environment for my students. Library furniture is very expensive and I know my students would love to have a place to sit and read. Rather than sitting on the floor or on our old dirty rugs. The Folding Back Jacks will not only be easy to store in the classroom. They will make the students reading experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
All children should have a nice and clean space that is comfortable and relaxing. The Back Jacks will allow the student to enjoy the book that he or she is reading, just as you or I would if we were at home on our couch reading a novel. I teach my students how to sit and enjoy the books they are reading when they have finished their work. Being comfortable can help the students imaginations take over and bring the books to life right before their eyes.
My students are learning to love reading more but they need a better reading environment to read in. I am writing this proposal because I would love to jazz up the library for my students with some Back Jacks.
My students all receive free and reduced lunch and the majority of my students are English Language Learners. My students are from a low-income community and I would like to provide my students with a reading experience that they will definitely remember when they are old.
I would appreciate any help you may have to offer so that my students will have a clean and comfortable place to sit and read a great book.
