Jazzing Up Our Drum Set

Help me give my students this drum set with a cover; we want it to stay looking nice so we need the cases as well. That's why it went past $1,000 dollars; we will use our old cymbals. Thanks!

My Students

I am the director of bands. We have a small school but a gigantic band program. One of every three people in our school is in band. We have a small school budget but a large school program. These students are amazing. They make beautiful music on the college level. They were selected as an honor band clinic performance last year at the Midwest International Band Conference in Chicago. This is the highest honor any band can receive in the world. We struggle to keep the level of musicianship here because it takes money. I have seen the Hispanic community embrace band here over the past 21 years. When I got here, there were no Hispanic students in the band. Now 33 percent of our personnel are Hispanic. We would appreciate the help to make a difference in the lives of this small town.

My Project

Our drum set is 21 years old. It has performed many jazz concerts over the years. It is time to retire this old gem to a practice room for new drum set players. The new set would make us sound amazing. The cases are very important so we can take good care of them when we travel.

Jazz is America's music that helps us keep it alive in our public schools!

We are only a generation away from losing this heritage in our public schools. Students need to be exposed to and play this genre of music. Thank you very much!
