My Students

I teach 8th graders in Pre-Algebra for 70 minute periods. Many come to me with some math deficits. I am working to prepare them for high school and beyond to be well versed in practical math applications.

Most of my students are looking for help in math and to become better at school, so they can prepare for their future.

They also look to improve their study habits and organizational skills. My students need extra motivation and push in their life to make them successful.

My Project

IXL will improve math literacy in my classroom by providing opportunities for students to be successful in practicing basic skills that will help them be successful in future endeavors.

This program is meant to help my 8th graders succeed in math.

In using this program, students can practice what they are not fluent in and give them more confidence to do well in math. Math is a subject that many students now are discouraged by. I want to have this program so that students can gain the confidence to not worry so much about my class. Extra practice and repetition can give them that confidence.
