Ms. Lynch from Manning SC is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an iPad in order to be fully engaged in the process of learning.

Imagine the problems even the brightest and most fortunate children face in today's society. Now...imagine what life is like for children who face adult struggles daily such as the need for basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing.
Facing these concerns each day makes learning in school a much lower priority.
My students need as much encouragement as possible to engage in learning. Teaching at a rural school filled with students who are considered high risk, I am challenged daily to come up with creative and interesting opportunities for them to learn. Having iPads in the classroom grasps their attention, holds their interest, and makes learning seem like fun. It also makes a tremendous difference on state wide tests which will very soon be computerized.
There are tons of apps and websites that will help my students make personal connections with the topics we study as well as help them change their perspective on how much fun learning new things can be. It will allow them an opportunity to become more technologically confident, which will help them as adult citizens to be more productive and successful.
I have used technology for various projects in my classroom over the years and have used an iPad most recently.
I have seen the wealth of resources make a difference at the fingertips of each of my students. It truly makes a difference in my classroom and in turn, in our community as we produce more successful citizens for tomorrow.
