We have a diverse group of Pre-K students who are ready and excited to learn! With your support they can grow, learn, and spread their excitement for education into their future academic career. Pre-K is a special place for children to learn how to get along with others while building self confidence and self esteem. They learn how to socialize with others, manage disagreements, and build key communication skills needed in the future.
We are curious and active learners who love to make new discoveries by exploring our surroundings.
It's hard for a four year old to sit and listen for long periods of time. That's why we learn through play! Our classroom materials are essential to our learning process. The materials we play with allow us to role play, reenact what we have learned, illustrate, create, build, rebuild, count, and manipulate water/sand flow. Sometimes we don't understand the purpose of an object so we play around and test our theories. Sometimes we'll think some more and try out a new ways to use our materials. We make observations and discuss what we notice. Through our discussions we draw conclusions that help us to make sense of the world.
My Project
Generous donors have given us an iPad to use in our Technology Center. I am so excited to use this great piece of technology. One thing I forgot about was the cost of all the apps we would need to put on our iPads. There are so many great educational apps I would like to put on the iPads but they cost money. The requested iTunes gift card will allow me to purchase the apps and load them onto our iPad. I will purchase various educational apps that will build on the early learning skills that my students need. Imagine how great the iPads will be with apps purchased with the iTunes gift card!
Finding engaging ways to help students develop a love for reading, like an iPad with engaging apps, is priceless, paying for the apps is where I need help!
I am also requesting headphones for our iPad and computers.
