Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work with 4-year-old students. They are just wonderful. They always come to school full of energy and ready to learn.
Some of them are really shy, but when given the opportunity, they show how very smart they are.
The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch so it is not a surprise that many of them have never been exposed to much, making school the greatest thing that has happened to them (best motivation to do my best as a teacher). Colorful, educational materials will be greatly appreciated.
My Project
The objective of this project is to expand my classroom library with high quality books. Books that will entice my students to dig deep into knowledge.
A good book has the power to awaken the interest and curiosity of those who listen to it.
Adding the Backyard Books collection to my library will help me introduce my students to the wonderful world of insects, ecosystems and life cycles. The Weather Board Book Set will help my students visualize and make connections to how changes in the weather affect us. And the Eric Carle books will help me introduce the concept of thinking and writing as writers.
